Independent Chart Wrap: Sia occupies 25% of Top 20

AIR Singles

Flume takes out the #1 spot again this week with Never Be Like You featuring Kai remaining at the top for another week. The Rubens’Hoops also hold onto their #2 spot while Flume adds another Top 3 single to his list with Smoke & Retribution featuring Vance Staples and Kucka debuting at #3.

Sia’s Cheap Thrills remains at #4 for another week while her other track Alive jumps two spots to #6 from #8.

Marcus Marr and Chet Faker’s Work EP leaps to the #11 spot up from last week’s #20.

Sia’s Bird Set Free re-enters the AIR Single Charts this week at #16 making it her sixth single in the Top 20. Also re-entering the charts is Boo Seeka’s Fool coming in at #20.

AIR Radio

Vance Joy kicks Marcus Marr and Chet Faker off their throne this week with Fire And The Flood taking out the #1 spot after 17 weeks of being in the charts.

The Rubens take out the #3 and #4 spots this week with Hold Me Back and Hoops swapping positions with each other from last week.

Yeo’s Icarus confidently re-enters the charts at #5 while Wild Honey’s Eye To Eye makes big moves from #14 to #6.

World Champion’s Avocado Galaxy also making big moves, jumping to #8 from #12.

Jenny Broke The Window is welcomed back to the charts this week as their track Skinny Dip re-enters at #9 as does Luca Brasi’s Aeroplane at #10.

Bootleg Rascal’s Asleep In The Machine also re-enters the Top 20 coming in at #14 while Alpine sits above them at #15 as Crunches debuts in the AIR Radio charts.

AIR Albums

We have some fresh faces at the top of the AIR Albums charts this week as Sia’s This Is Acting debuts at #1 while Polaris’ The Guilt and The Grief debuts at #2, respectively.

Without a record label behind them, and without any physical sales registered by ARIA, Sydney’s Polaris alsohad their EP The Guilt and the Griefdebut at #34 on the ARIA chart on Saturday.

Fortay’s Can’t Sell Drugs 4 Eva debuts in the Top 10 at #8 this week while Sticky Fingers re-enter the Top 10 at #9 with their debut album Caress Your Soul.

Once again Sia has flooded the Independent charts this week as three more of her albums re-enter the album charts: at #11 Sia’s Best Of….., at #17 Sia’s Some People Have Real Problems, and We Are Born at #20.

Joining her is Courtney Barnett with The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas coming in at #19 and The Smith Street Band with Throw Me In The River re-entering at #18.
