The Rubens’ ‘Never Ever’ goes Platinum, new dates added as tour sells out

The Rubens’ single Never Ever (featuring Sarah) has been certified Platinum, for Australian sales of 70,000, Ivy League Records revealed.

The track is from their third album LO LA RU.

At the same time, they’ve been adding extra shows to their November/December national LO LA RU album tour with Little May.

The addition of Brunswick Heads, Wollongong, Albury and Cairns takes the full tour run to 17 shows.

The new shows are:

Friday, November 2 – Brunswick Hotel, Brunswick Heads

Saturday, November 17 – UOW Bar, Wollongong

Sunday, November 25 – SS&A, Albury

Thursday, December 13 – Tanks, Cairns

Thanks to triple j Unearthed, unsigned artists have the chance to join the band onstage to sing the female vocal of Never Ever with The Rubens during the tour.

The winner will also be chosen as the opening support act in each state.

The band last night finished off their 42-date Australasian arena tour in New Zealand last night.

LO LA RU follows the band’s first two LPs, 2012’s The Rubens (#3 on the ARIA Album Chart, certified Platinum) and 2015’s Hoops (#2, certified Gold).
