Ricochet Ball 2024 Tournament Sets Date

Ricochet Ball bounces back for its 2024 edition, set for June 14 at Perry Park Recreation Centre in Alexandria, Sydney.

Founded in 2018 by songwriter, producer and DJ KLP and music publicist Anna Fitzgerald, head of the recently launched PR firm ms.fitz communications, Ricochet Ball is the charity netball tournament for the entertainment industry.

To date, its three previous tourneys raised over $75,000 combined for good causes, with Spotify, Sony Music, SCA, TMRW Music and Warner Music among the companies that have fielded teams. 

“We are so pumped to announce Ricochet Ball will happen again this year,” says KLP. “After the last event in November 2022 we had so many teams contact us keen to take part again.”

The biggest fundraising team of that most recent event was Sweat It Out, which raised much needed cash for The Butterfly Foundation, followed by TMRW Music (for the Yothu Yindi Foundation).

On that occasion, the likes of Matt Okine, Thandi Phoenix, Bryce Mills, Veronica Milsom, Abby Butler, Reigan, Urthboy and Mike E & Emma played ball. 

Prizes on the day came from Nike, AM Eyewear, Hard Fizz, Mate Maker, Bonditony’s Burger Joint, Palmer’s and Vitadrop. Non-alcoholic beverages from HOPR and Athletic Brewing also kept players hydrated, with Set Mo and Marshes DJing with speakers thanks to DJ Warehouse, and Danny Clayton on hosting duties.

For the record, iHeartRadio (for Support Act) won the 2022 silverware.

KLP and Fitzgerald hope to raise over $25,000 this time, which would lift the total amount raised to over $100,000.

“Ricochet Ball is always such a fun day out for the music industry and a great way to raise money for a range of worthy charities,” adds Fitzgerald. “The standard of netball always blows my mind. This year we need a team to beat iHeartRadio who have won the past two tournaments – so everyone needs to get training now.”
