QMusic announces new management committee

QMusic has announced changes to its management committee.

Natalie Strijland, lawyer and director of law firm NR Barbi Solicitor Pty Ltd, is promoted to president, taking the reins from former Courier-Mail editor Michael Crutcher.

The new vice president is D-J Wendt, a promoter and manager, and owner of concert production firm Dmand, who joined the committee in 2014.

He takes over from Stephen Green, whom TMN last week revealed was stepping down from QMusic after 14 years to spend more time on his media business.

Joining the committee is former Powderfinger member John Collins, who now runs The Triffid.

Strijland said, “On behalf of QMusic, I thank Michael and Greenie for the impact they have made on the Australian music industry through their involvement on the QMusic management committee, with almost 22 years between them.

“We are looking forward to the opportunities a new president and vice president brings.

“I also officially welcome JC to the committee. We are excited to have him as part of the team.”

Other committee members are chartered accountant Ben Hancock (treasurer), musician and festival programmer Roz Pappalardo (secretary), Michael Crutcher, radio presenter Rhianna Patrick, Dew Process head of A&R John Mullen, Hit Network national music director Jack Ball and journalist and Vivienne Mellish.

The QMusic patron is Scott Hutchinson, chairman of Hutchinson Builders and live music activist.
