More recently, their track King has seen the lions share of commercial success, peaking at #1 on the UK chartand #9 on the ARIA chart. It currently sits at #8 on the TMN Hot 100, their highest chart position on the chart as a lead artist. Their forthcoming June release will prove timely, feeding off the success of King, which is still in circulation today, as well as the press behind receiving BBC’s Sound Of 2015 award. Definitely one of the stronger releases to look out for in July.

Slaves
Are We Satisfied?
(EMI) Out May 29

Hailing from Kent, Slaves are a two-piece punk band formed in 2012 by Laurie Vincent (guitar/vocals) and Issac Holman (drums/vocals). Embraced by fans and critics for stripping their sound back to the short, fast and snotty ethos of the 70’s punk scene, they released their first EP in 2012, before being signed by Virgin EMI in 2014 to release the single Heylast year. The band were propelled into public consciousness after performing Heyon Later… With Jools Holland, something of a coup considering they were billed alongside U2, Sam Smith and Interpol. They also scored a nomination on BBC’s Sound of 2015 list, with the BBC dubbing them “unashamed fearsome riff makers”. Latest single Feed The Mantarayis punk rock washed in pop fuzz, and a good indication that their debut album, the upcomingAre We Satisfied?,is sure to showcase the frenzied, scuzzy sound the band is fast becoming famous for.
