Nova reveals massive first Red Room gig for 2020

One of the world’s biggest acts of the year is confirmed to play Nova’s first Red Room of 2020.

‘Good As Hell’ hitmaker Lizzo will perform on Seadeck, Sydney Harbour in January.

Following a viral performance of “Jerome” at the American Music Awards last week, Lizzo heads to Australia in January for FOMO Festival and some sideshows.

NOVA Entertainment’s music marketing director said Claire Marshall says it’s been another incredible year for the Red Room brand.

“Everything we work toward is done in true partnership and in 2019 we’ve had the privilege of working with some incredible people.

“Both established and break out, artists have been very generous with their time and we can’t wait to for Lizzo to connect with her fans up close and personal in Nova’s Red Room in 2020. What a way to kick off a new decade!”

Lizzo began her career in Minneapolis releasing two studio albums, Lizzobangers in 2013 and Big Grrrl Small World in 2015.

After the release of her first major-label EP Coconut Oil, she crossed into the mainstream with third album Cuz I Love You, peaking inside the Top 5 of the Billboard 200 and spawned the singles ‘Juice’ and ‘Tempo’.

The deluxe version of the album included her 2017 single ‘Truth Hurts’, which became a mega-hit and topped the Billboard Hot 100 two years after its initial release.

Lizzo’s 2016 single ‘Good as Hell’ also climbed the charts, reaching the top ten of the UK Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100.

‘Good As Hell’ is also easily Lizzo’s best-performing track at Aussie radio. Her previous peaks came via ‘Truth Hurts’ (#31) and ‘Juice’ (#34) on the TMN Hot 100 Powered by Radio Monitor.

Lizzo has been nominated for Best New Artist and received eight nominations at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year for the deluxe version of ‘Cuz I Love You’ and Song of the Year and Record of the Year for ‘Truth Hurts’.

Fresh off the back of five shows for Nova’s Red Room ARIA Week, Australia’s premier intimate live music platform provides music fans with money can’t buy experiences with the world’s biggest artists.

Established in 2012, over 250 artists have performed in Nova’s Red Room including Ed Sheeran, Miley Cyrus, Coldplay, Tones and I and Billie Eilish.
