Amrap chart wrap: Lonelyspeck and Tania Kernaghan hold onto top positions in community radio charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week, Lonelyspeck holds onto the top spot in the Amrap Metro Chart, while Tania Kernaghan also maintains the first position in the Amrap Regional Chart.

Lonelyspeck has held onto #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart, with Happy New Year charting for the second week. The track picked up a spot on FBi Radio Sydney’s New Music List, with Lonelyspeck also receiving the Independent Artist of Week slot in December from FBi Radio. Tania Kernaghan has also maintained the top position in the Amrap Regional Chart, picking up #1 spot during her third week in the charts with That’s A Tradie. Watch the official video clip from the QLD based country singer, as featured via Amrap Pages, on station websites such as Fraser Coast FM in QLD, 979fm and Inner FM in VIC, Highland FM, 2NUR FM, 2MCR and Nambucca Valley Radio in NSW, as well as the nationally syndicated country music program Good Morning Country.

Cosmos Midnight rise #2 on the Amrap Metro Chart, with their latest offering History. Listen to an official audio clip for the track, as featured via Amrap Pages on station websites including Fraser Coast FM in QLD and 2GLF FM in NSW. The track was added to FBi Radio Sydney’s New Music List, as well as receiving airplay from Radio Adelaide in SA, 2MIA in NSW, as well as 3NRG and Southern FM in VIC.

Paul Cowdery appears in the Amrap Regional Chart for the third week, taking out the #2 spot with Nothin’ You Want. The emotional track, which is a fusion of country, roots and rock, has received airplay support from City Park Radio in TAS, Albany Community Radio, Tjuma Pulka Media and Voice of the Avon in WA, 5 Triple Z, WOW FM and Fleurieu FM in SA, as well as 101 FM, Noosa FM, Coast FM, Beau FM and 101.5 FM Moreton Bay’s Own Radio in QLD, 2MCR, SWR FM, Northside Radio, Central Hunter Radio and Vox FM in NSW, as well as OCR FM, Voice FM, 3RPC, Inner FM and North West FM in VIC.

Paradigm appears in the Amrap Metro Chart at #3, with their latest single BBT charting for the third consecutive week. Watch the official video for the electro-pop rock earworm, as featured via Amrap Pages on station websites including 2GLF in NSW, Edge Radio Hobart, 4ZZZ Brisbane and Inner FM Melbourne. BBT was part of Edge Radio Hobart’s New Music list, and received additional airplay from Radio Skid Row Sydney, PBS Melbourne, Radio Adelaide and City Park Radio in TAS.

The Bushwackers latest release Another Trip to Bunnings has held onto the #3 position in the Amrap Regional Charts. The country track, which has appeared for the fourth week in the Regional Charts, has received airplay across Australia from Voice of the Avon in WA, City Park Radio in TAS, WOWFM, Coast FM and Fleurieu FM in SA, Nambucca Valley Radio, Braidwood Community Radio, Coonamble Community Radio and 2MIA in NSW, as well as Southern FM, 3RPC, OCR FM, Voice FM, 3WAY, Radio Murrindindi and 94.7 The Pulse in VIC.

Zillanova debut at #4 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the dark and brooding funk offering The Fader. Watch the soulful video for track, as featured via Amrap Pages, on station websites including Harvey Community Radio in WA, Triple R Melbourne, 4ZZZ Brisbane, Edge Radio Hobart, and Eastside Radio Sydney. The Fader has been played across stations including Eastside Radio in NSW, Coast FM in QLD, Harvey Community Radio in WA, Voice FM and Inner FM in VIC, as well as Star FM and Edge Radio in TAS.

Chase the Sun make their debut entrance into the Amrap Regional Charts at #4, with Live It Up. The track blistering track has received plenty of airplay from Star FM in TAS, Fleurieu FM and PBA FM in SA, Fraser Coast FM and Coast FM in QLD, 2BOB, 2SEA and 2NUR in NSW, RTRFM, Heritage FM, and Voice of The Avon in WA, as well as 979fm, 3RPC, Hot FM, North West FM, Plenty Valley FM and Radio Mansfield in VIC.

Flangipanis appear for the fourth week in Amrap Metro Chart, taking the #5 position with Double Standards. Jodie from Flangipanis called into The Range on Radio Adelaide in December to chat about the empowering track, how the lyrics are all backhanded compliments about being a female in a punk band, and which member of the band would be eaten first if Flangipanis were stranded on a desert island. Double Standards was added to 4ZZZ’s Top 20, and also received airplay from Coast FM in NSW, Voice FM in VIC as well as Three D and 5GTR in SA.

Steve Eales & The Open Road slide up to the #5 position in the Amrap Regional Chart with Drifting On. With a blend of country and roots, the three-piece can take pride in receiving a spin on the iconic nationally-syndicated Good Morning Country program, broadcast on community stations nation-wide via the Community Radio Network (CRN).

Alex the Astronaut has maintained her presence in the Amrap Metro Chart, with Already Home holding onto #6. The latest offering from the Sydney born, NYC based singer picked up spots in FBi Radio Sydney and Edge Radio Hobart’s New Music lists. Watch the official video clip for the track as featured via Amrap Pages, on station websites such as 4ZZZ Brisbane and Northside Radio in NSW. Listen to the charting single performed live-to-air on FBi Radio’s Mornings program.

Karin Page moves into her third Amrap Regional Charting week, taking out the #6 slot for Wherever You Are. Watch the official video for the alt-country single as featured via Amrap Pages on station websites including Nambucca Valley Radio in NSW, Rainbow FM in QLD and Plenty Valley FM and 3MDR in VIC. The emotive and catchy tune from the Byron Bay local has received a swathe of airplay from stations including King Island Community Radio in TAS, Radio Mama and Voice of the Avon in WA, Adelaide’s Coast FM and Hills Radio in SA, Coast FM, Valley FM and Beau FM in QLD, 2MIA, STA FM, 2BOB and 2AAA FM in NSW, as well as 3NRG, 3WAY, Apple FM, Voice FM and 3WBC in VIC.

Gum is still going strong in the Amrap Metro Chart, taking #7 with Gemini. Watch the official video for the psychedelic synth-pop song as featured via Amrap Pages on station websites including RTRFM Perth, 4ZZZ Brisbane, Edge Radio Hobart, Eastside Radio and FBi Radio in NSW, as well as Triple R, Inner FM and 979 FM in VIC.

Tobias rings in at #7 in his fourth Amrap Regional Charting week with When The Sun Comes Up Again. The QLD folk and roots artist recently called into 98.9 FM in Brisbane where he spoke about his upbringing in a “folky house” in Eumundi and how studying Indigenous Studies and Anthropology at university has helped his song writing. The track has received plenty of airplay from regional stations including King Island Community Radio in TAS, Voice of the Avon in WA, Hills Radio, Alex FM and 5GTR in SA, 2MIA, Coast FM and Triple U FM in NSW, as well as North West FM, OCR FM and Mitchell Community Radio in VIC.

Deep Sea Arcade have held onto #8 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Learning to Fly. The Sydney psyche-pop act picked up a spot in Edge Radio Hobart’s recommended list. Bonniedoon take #9 in the Amrap Regional Chart in their third charting week with Take me Down having received airplay at stations right across Australia including Voice of the Avon in WA, 5GTR and Tribe FM in SA, Gin Gin’s Own and 4NAG in QLD, Triple H and Radio Skid Row in NSW, as well as 3NRG, 3WBC, 3RPC and Mitchell Community Radio in VIC. Edward R. has held onto #9 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Who’s Going to Love You I having picked up a spot in Edge Radio Hobart’s New Music List. Jackie D slides into the Amrap Regional Chart, taking #10 with the personal single Contemplating Life. The storytelling single has also racked up additional airplay elsewhere at stations including Huon FM in TAS, Fraser Coast FM and Gin Gin’s Own in QLD, 5 Triple Z, Coast FM and Alex FM in SA, Nambucca Valley Radio, Highland FM, WOW FM and 2MIA in NSW, as well as 3WAY, 3RPC, Voice FM, 95.7 The Pulse, Radio Murrindindi and 3WBC in VIC.
