ARIA Charts: Angus & Julia Stone Score First No. 1 Album in Over 10 Years
Australian favourites Angus & Julia Stone have scored their first No. 1 album on the ARIA charts in over ten years.
Australian favourites Angus & Julia Stone have scored their first No. 1 album on the ARIA charts in over ten years.
The duo's sixth studio album, Karaoke Bar, has debuted on top of the Albums chart and the Australian Albums chart, as well as No. 2 on the Vinyl Albums list.
Their last No. 1 album came in 2014 with their self-titled effort.
They are now the third Australian act to top the main Albums chart this year, following DMA'S last month and Karnivool in February.
“We’re blown away to hear that Karaoke Bar is the No. 1 album in Australia," the Stones said on Friday.
"We’ve been making music together for such a long time, and to still be able to share new songs and have people connect with them in this way feels incredibly special.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported us along the way, and to everyone who has bought, streamed or listened to the record since it came out last week. We never take any of it for granted. To have this album go to No. 1 here at home means the world to us.”

Other album debuts this week include Adela's Prima (No. 6), President's Blood of Your Empire (No. 9), Airbourne's self-titled sixth album (No. 19) and Amyl and the Sniffers' Truth or Consequence live album (No. 23).
Meanwhile, Melbourne-based Ecca Vandal's May-released second album, Looking For People to Unfollow, has jumped back up thanks to its new vinyl release, hitting No. 12 on the main Albums list, No. 1 on the Vinyl Albums chart and No. 2 on the Australian Albums list.
Over on the Singles chart, Ella Langley's “Choosin' Texas” again stays on top for a 13 non-consecutive week.
