Alex Warren Scores First Aotearoa No. 1 Album With 'Wildchild'

Alex Warren has claimed the top spot on the Aotearoa Albums chart this week with his second studio album, Wildchild.

Despite the commercial success of his 2025 debut, You'll Be Alright, Kid, this marks Warren's first-ever No. 1 debut album in New Zealand. Warren also takes the first four positions on the Hot 40 with tracks from the record, led by "Emerald Eyes" at No. 1, and tops the Catalogue Singles Chart with “Ordinary.”

Elsewhere on the Singles Top 40, Ella Langley's "Choosin' Texas" has now spent 16 weeks at No. 1, the second-longest run atop the chart in Aotearoa Charts history. Only Olivia Dean's "Man I Need" has held the position longer, with a 31-week stretch.

On the Aotearoa Albums Top 20, Mel Parsons reclaims No. 1 with her latest record, Castle Hill, following a three-week gap at the top. The record debuted at the top of the Top 40 in its week of release, making it only the second album from an Aotearoa artist to reach No. 1 in 2026.

New album debuts this week include Letoa's Glocstarr 2  at No. 4, MOKOMOKAI and Troy Kingi at No. 9 with their collaborative EP, Jonathan Bree's Don't Call it Love at No. 10, and emerson's Leap! at No. 14.

Hori Shaw and Te Wehi's "Ready To Ride" continues its dominance on the local Singles Chart, holding No. 1 for a 43rd week, while Max Allais climbs to the top of the Aotearoa Hot 20 with "Crybaby," a month after the track's chart debut.
