Phoebe Bridgers Tops Aotearoa Charts with 'Lost Weekend'

Phoebe Bridgers has claimed her first-ever solo No. 1 on the Aotearoa music charts this week. 

Lost Weekend, her third studio album, is Bridgers' first appearance on the chart since Boygenius' 2023 album, the record, which peaked at No. 2.

Other album debuts this week include KATSEYE's WILD EP (No. 4), and Reb Fountain's Water For Gasoline (No. 9). Recorded in a single live take, it is her first full-length release since 2023's How Love Bends.

Lontalius re-enters the Aotearoa Albums Chart this week too, with Real Fruit Ice Cream landing at No. 9.

Over on the Singles chart, Ella Langley notches a 14th week at No. 1 with “Choosin' Texas,” closing in on the record held by her predecessor, Olivia Dean's "Man I Need," which still holds the longest run at the summit by a female artist at 15 weeks.

In fact, female artists have occupied the No. 1 spot every week for the past 13 months, with a single exception: Wham!'s "Last Christmas" which returned to the top over the festive period. 

Elsewhere, Hori Shaw and Te Wehi mark a 40th week at No. 1 on the Official Top 20 Aotearoa Singles list with "Ready To Ride", while Flowidus crack the Hot Aotearoa Singles chart at No. 1 with "Midnight Sound". The drum and bass track, featuring UK singer-songwriter HARLEE, first entered the Chart in May and returns this week at its peak position.
