Olivia Rodrigo and Ella Langley reign supreme on the main Aotearoa music charts this week.

Rodrigo remains top of the Official Top 40 Albums chart for a fifth straight week with you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love, surpassing the four weeks she spent there with 2023's GUTS. The pop superstar, however, still has a long way to go to topple SOUR's 15-week run in 2021. The Rolling Stones move down one place to No. 2 with Foreign Tongues, hailed as one of their best albums in years.

There's another non-mover atop the Official Top 40 Singles chart, with breakout country artist Langley remaining there with "Choosin' Texas". It's the song's ninth week at No. 1. The rest of the top 5 is dominated by inescapable hits such as "Rein Me In" by Sam Fender and Olivia Dean (29 weeks in the chart) at No. 3 and "Ordinary" by Alex Warren (75 weeks) at No.. 5.

There are more interesting results in the New Zealand-specific charts.

Making it into the Official Top 20 Aotearoa Albums chart at No. 4 is 4EPS, a special release out of Ōtepoti Dunedin featuring four young bands celebrated in our sister site Rolling Stone AU/NZ's Scene Report series: Sivle Talk, Sogg, U-No Juno, and Vagina Dry. The joint EP sits alongside Marlon Williams, Lorde, Te Wehi, and Six60 in the top 5 — fine company to keep.

The Official Top 20 Aotearoa Singles chart, meanwhile, belongs to Hori Shaw and Te Wehi, taking out the top spot once again with "Ready to Ride". Lorde is the only New Zealand solo artist to have spent more weeks at No. 1 than either of the two artists (103 total weeks for Lorde, 60 and 54 for Hori and Te Wehi respectively). Son & Water also impressively make the top 5 twice with "SAW" and their Myshaan collaboration "Home".

Over on the Top 10 Te Reo Māori Singles chart, TAWAZ and friends are at No. 1 for another week with "Mānawa Maiea Matariki". There are some great new entries, including Brutha Rodz with "Manawa Raiona", his te reo Māori translation of his hit "Heart of a Lion", at No. 2, and exciting EDM artist Ardon England's first waiata reo Māori foray, "Whai Mai Rā", landing at No. 5.
