The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide a great insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10 tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees a soul revival as community radio favourites cross over from regional to metro airwaves.

Emma Donovan & The Putbacks’ Dawn took #1 of the Amrap Metro Chart. The smooth soul track first appeared in December at #10 in the Regional Chart, rose to #1 there and crossed over to #4 on the Metro Chart last week. Clearly Donovan’s extensive promo with both regional and metro stations has paid off. The video’s also gaining traction through station websites via Amrap Pages including here at Byron Bay FM, Victoria’s Mountain District Radio and Perth’s RTR.

Paul Kelly’s Keep On Coming Back For More (feat. Clairy Browne) stayed at #1 of the Regional Chart for the second week running and dropped from poll position on the Metro Chart to #2. It is track of the week on WA’s Harvey Community Radio and Kelly’s Merri Soul Sessions is feature record on Melbourne’s PBS FM. The song is now getting airplay in every State and Territory and the video is gaining traction on station websites via Amrap Pages including here at Brisbane’s 4ZZZ.

Hermitude debuted at #3 on the Metro Chart with Through the Roof (feat. Young Tapz). The party dancefloor tune is getting solid spins across metro stations including RTR, 4ZZZ, and Melbourne’s Triple R, and has been playlisted on hometown FBi Radio in Sydney. Hermitude were favourites among the thousands of punters who turned up to the FBi Turns 10 festival.

Ed Wells’ Sparrow and Seed has spent four weeks in both charts, currently at #9 on the Metro and #8 on the Regional Chart. Wells was interviewed and performed live here on Vital Bits on Triple R, Burwood’s 2RDJ and Melbourne’s 3CR.

The Swamp Stompers Swamp Stomp Boogie debuted at #7 on the Amrap Regional Chart. Check out their interview here on Bega’s Edge FM, and a video from their slot at Bluesfest 2014 featured here on Tasmania’s TYGA FM.

Perth psychedelic nutters Pond continue to impress community radio with their latest single Zond debuting at #9 on the Amrap Metro Chart.
