Melbourne’s East Brunswick Hotel re-opens as a music venue

Live music venue East Brunswick Hotel – better known as the East Brunswick Club – has re-opened under new owner Scott Didier.

The East Brunswick Club closed to music in 2012, and ran as a boutique pub until 2015.

Didier bought the three-storey 1880s building on the Lygon Street strip last December for $4.84 million and closed it for renovations to revive it as a music hub in the industrial-style public bar complete with a John Farnham mural.

It will host gigs from Thursday through Sunday.

“The history and presence of this venue makes it one of the most unique pubs in Melbourne, and one with so much potential as a community pub, boutique hotel and home to live music,” Didier told the Herald-Sun.

The hotel also has an up-market bar, a small dining space and 12 luxury accommodation rooms.
