Live Nation Australia, Mellen Events Unveil Cut Above Collective
Live Nation Australia and Mellen Events are partners on Cut Above Collective, a new West Coast booking agency.
Presented this week, Cut Above Collective is based in Perth and boasts a nine-strong roster, with Josh Terlick named as general manager.
“We’re so excited to be launching Cut Above Collective here in Western Australia,” Terlick comments.
“With the support of Mellen Events and Live Nation Australia, we can’t wait to spotlight the amazing Western Australian artists we represent, along with some absolute gems from around the country.”
Terlick is an experienced agent, with long stints as director Beardfoot Bookings and Promotions, and as booking agent a with Champion Music.
Currently, Cut Above Collective represents Alter Boy, Boox Kid, Chaos Divine, Drea, Have A Good Day, Osaka Punch, Priscilla, Voyager and Yomi Ship, with an official launch party set for Saturday, April 29 at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel.
A string of those artist clients and DJs will perform on the night.
LN strategically acquired Mellen Events in 2021, a deal that fits with the concerts giant’s strategy to establish a presence in all major cities in the region and the ability to connect with operations across Australia and Asia, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, The Music Network reported at the time.
Brad Mellen established Mellen Events in 1996 as a concert, events development and festival promoter. Its events have included the Ord Valley Muster, the Kimberley Moon Experience, Kaleidoscope Festival of light, art and music with the City of Joondalup, A Day On The Green at Kings Park and Future Music at Arena Joondalup.
Also, Mellen has previously toured the likes of Kylie Minogue, Bryan Adams, Bryan Ferry, James Blunt, Burt Bacharach, John Farnham, Paul Kelly, The Beach Boys and Lorde in WA.
LN has been on a tear. Just last month, the live entertainment giant announced it had secured a multi-year lease to operate Melbourne’s Festival Hall, adding the venue to a growing portfolio which includes The Palais Theatre in Melbourne, the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane, the Hindley Street Music Hall in Adelaide and Anita’s Theatre, a historic venue in Thirroul, a northern seaside suburb of Wollongong. Anita’s in 2022 became LN’s first entry into the regions.
