Kobalt enters publishing deal with F Block Music Studios

PRESS RELEASE:

Kobalt Music Publishing announced today it has entered into a publishing administration agreement with Hank Hughes, owner of F Block Music Studios based at Ealing Film Studios. The new partnership is intended to develop and nurture up-and-coming songwriters and artists while offering the utmost trust and transparent administration.

Being one of the UK’s most prominent music production studios, F Block is in a prime position to spot fresh talent with a stream of new artists and writers constantly coming through its doors. Throughout his long-time successful career, Hank Hughes has worked with many accomplished songwriters, some of which include Naughty Boy, Emeli Sande and Mojam among others.

Sas Metcalfe, President of Global Creative at Kobalt, commented, “We are thrilled to be working with F Block. His connection to new writers and artists is phenomenal.”

Miller Williams, Senior Vice President of Creative at Kobalt, said, “Hank Hughes has a fantastic track record of spotting and mentoring young songwriters and artists – many of whom are now among the top tier of writers and producers in the UK and beyond. We’re excited and pleased Hank has chosen the Kobalt family as a partner in his new publishing venture.”

Hank Hughes, owner of F Block Studios, stated, “It’s important to capture and nurture writing talent early on, most have at least one hit record in them, but a few are constantly hitting the mark as in the case with Shahid Khan (Naughty Boy). It’s those writers I would like to find and publish through Kobalt. It was a no-brainer doing this admin deal with Kobalt. The company’s track record speaks for itself, but it was the totally innovative portal system that sealed the deal for me. I have already targeted a couple of new producers and top liners I’d like to engage."

Both Kobalt and F Block focus on mentoring and nurturing songwriters and artists from the ground up in addition to connecting established writers for creative opportunities and collaboration.
