Initial details announced for 30th annual ARIA Awards

It’s been 30 years since Sir Elton John hosted the very first ARIA Awards at the Sheraton Wentworth Hotel in Sydney. Now, three decades since inaugural winners John Farnham, INXS, and Crowded House graced the stage for their first of many ARIAs, its organisers are preparing a show which will feature current and iconic local artists.

ARIA, in partnership with Destination NSW and Telstra, will announce the performances and celebrations set to take place during ARIA Week in the coming months. Today though, it’s announced the Awards will take place on Wednesday November 23 at The Star, Sydney and will be broadcast nationally on Channel Ten.

The 2015 ARIA Awards delivered increased ratings for Network Ten as the #1 show for 16-39 year olds. It generated 109 million impressions on social media around the world.

As pointed out by ARIA, locally there have been a phenomenal 19 #1 Australian albums since September 2015 and two Australian ARIA #1 singles, Flume feat. Kai – Never Be Like You and The Veronicas’ In My Blood.

Those 19 local #1 albums since last September are:
