FastForward Sydney unveils first speakers for 2019

FastFoward, the European boutique forward-thinking music conference returns to Sydney for a second time in April next year.

Founder and CEO Chris Carey said from London, “The music industry is constantly changing, constantly innovating.

“Technology opens up fresh opportunities and new challenges, some to be fought and others to be capitalised upon.

“I’m excited to be back in Sydney to continue these conversations.

“At FastForward we will be looking at the businesses shaping the future of music and technology, exploring the impact of government policy on the music industry –  for better and for worse – and tackling some of the big issues that affect the whole industry, from productivity and wellbeing to sustainability.”

The first speakers, announced this morning, are:

  • Brigid Dixon, lawyer, Legal and Business Affairs, The Mushroom Group
  • Chris Carey, CEO, Media Insight Consulting (UK)
  • Dee Speed, design director, Google (USA)
  • James Fleury, founder and CEO, Nouvague, (UK)
  • Luke Girgis, CEO, 7th Street Media
  • Rachel Marie Cox, artist and founder, Sad Grrrls Club
  • Taka Suzuki, president, EnterTech Accelerator , ParadeALL (Japan)
  • Vanessa Picken, CEO, Comes With Fries

As per last year, Carey and Picken will curate the program, to be announced in the new year.

AWAL, who partnered on the Sydney event, extended its global partnership to London and Amsterdam.

International music analytics company Soundcharts also join as global partners, covering the three cities.

FastForward Sydney takes place April 11 & 12 at at the Aerial Function Centre within University of Technology Sydney.
