Chugg biggest selling Australian promoter in Q1 2018, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena #2 in world

Chugg Entertainment sold the most concert tickets in Australia in Q1 2018, according to US-based global live entertainment trade Pollstar magazine.

In the meantime, Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena was the second most successful venue in the world in this quarter.

The Sydney-based company founded by promoter and artist manager Michael Chugg sold a total of 210,096 tickets. 

It ranked #17 globally on Pollstar’s Top 50 Promoters list.

Adelaide-based Adrian Bohm Presents, which specialises in comedy tours, was at #34 with 117,929 tickets.

TEG Dainty was #37 with 113,939.

Live Nation Australia figures were rolled into its parent company, which globally topped the list with sales of 2.8 million.

In terms of Top 100 Arenas, Qudos Bank Arena had second global spot with 251,442 going through the turnstiles.

It was beaten to the top spot by Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany, with 369,512.

Four Australian arenas made the list.

  • Perth Arena was #35: with 81,447 tickets;
  • Brisbane Entertainment Centre #39 with 76,788;
  • Sydney’s Hordern Pavilion at #45 with 72,060;
  • Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena at #61 with 65,909.

In the world’s Top 50 clubs’ performance, the Corner Hotel in Richmond, Melbourne, continued to lead local venues.

It sold 25,421 which gave it a world #16 ranking.

Pollstar estimates its lists from data provided by promoters and venues.
