Chart Wrap: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis take another #1

Hot 100

It’s a relatively quiet week in the Top 3 of the Hot 100 with little movement leaving Justin Bieber’s What Do You Mean? sitting pretty at #1. Taking a new peak at #3 however is Felix Jaehn’s Ain’t Nobody (Loves Me Better) which creeps up from #4. R City’s Locked Away claims a new highpoint at #6 from #10 whilst Jess Glynne’s Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself and Sam Feldt’s Show Me Love featuring Kimberly Anne enter the Top 10 at #9 from #11 and #10 from #12 respectively.

Plenty of notable movement dots the Hot 100 this week with Robin Schulz’s Sugar featuring Francesco Yates kicking it off at a move to #14 from #20, likely entering the Top 10 in the next chart. Drake’s Hotline Bling moves up to #26 from #46 while Duke Dumont’s Ocean Drive reflects his sudden boost on commercial radio, climbing to #61 from #84. Taking the title of most moved this week is Dawin’s Dessert climbing from #61 to #29, a total move of 32 places.

A fair few debuts make it into the Top 50 this week. Naughty Boy’s Runnin’ (Lose It All) featuring Beyonce & Arrow Benjamin enters at #30 followed closely by Birds Of Tokyo’s I’dGo With You Anywhere. Bielfield’s Frequency enters at #40 while Sia’s Alive and Rudimental’s Lay It All On Me featuring Ed Sheeran debut at #44 and #48 respectively.

ARIA Singles

Following three weeks at #2, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ Downtown has finally taken #1 and marks their fourth single to top the chart. It follows in the footsteps of Thrift Shop, Same Love and Can’t Hold Us. The move pushes Justin Bieber’s What Do You Mean? to #2 while Robin Schulz’s Sugar featuring Francesco Yates takes a new peak at #3 from #11. Ellie Goulding’s On My Mind moves up to #7 from #15 followed by Jessica Mauboy’s This Ain’t Love at #8 which makes a high re-entry following her X Factor performanceafter dropping out of the Top 50 last week. Sia’s huge single Alive makes its Top 50 debut at #10 and marks her third appearance in the top bracket, the others being Chandelier which peaked at #2 and Elastic Heart which peaked at #5.

ARIA Albums

Taking their first ever #1 on the ARIA Albums chart is Byron Bay’s very own Parkway Drive with their fifth studio album Ire. Their previous peak was at #2 with Deep Blue in 2010. Two other new debuts take up #2 and #3 this week, the second Disclosure album Caracal claims the #2 spot while Chvrches’ Every Open Eye takes #3 and earns them their first ever Top 10 appearance. No other debuts come in until #10 and #13. Pierce Brothers’ Into The Dirt debuts at #10 while Fetty Wap’s self-titled debut album claims the #13 spot.
