Chart Wrap: FourFiveSeconds tops the Singles chart, Fifty Shades debuts at #1 on albums

Hot 100

This week’s chart sees OMI’s Cheerleader finally take #1 in what has been five weeks of constant gains up the Top 10 since debuting at #10. Back up at #2 from #3 is Hozier’s Take Me To Church, just sitting short of its previous best of #1 which was taken by Mark Ronson last week. Now Ronson sits at #3 with Uptown Funk featuring Bruno Mars, losing the top spot to OMI. Sia hits a new peak of #4 up from #7 with Elastic Heart as does Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney’s FourFiveSeconds, which now sits at #7 up from #9. Taylor Swift’s Style now sits in the Top 10 landing at #10 from #13, this meansshe once again has two tracks in the top bracket, the other being Blank Space, which is down at #8 from #5.

Outside the Top 10 some notable movement can be seen from Ellie Goulding with Love Me Like You Do hitting #13 from #31. David Guetta & Emili Sande’s What I Did For Love breaks the Top 30 at #32 up from #62 and Childish Gambino’s Sober just makes the Top 40 at #39 from #68. The most moved this week however is Zhu’s Faded which sees a jump from #95 to #63, no doubt still riding off recent success on the Hottest 100.

A fair few debuts take place in the Top 50 this week. First up is at #34 with Jessie J’s Masterpiece. At #36 is a new entry from Vance Joy’s Georgia and #44 sees Olly Murs and Demi Lovato’s Up take the last debut in the Top 50. Two noteworthy re-entries take place as well with Ed Sheeran’s Give Me Love coming in at #62 and Sam Smith’s Stay With Me at #73, both no doubt as a result of the recent spotlight shone on them by The Grammys.

This is the label marketshare based on this week’sTMN Hot 100chart.

ARIA Singles

At #1 on the Singles chart this week is Rihanna, Kanye West & Paul McCartney’s FourFiveSeconds, which is up from last week’s #3seemingly out of no where with no notable movement predicted within the Top 3. The new #1 becomes Rihanna’s 7th, Kanye’s 2nd and Paul’s 3rd (not including The Beatles). Up at #4 from #7 is Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do which is now in its fourth week in the chart. Two tracks break the Top 10 following midweek predictions, Taylor Swift’s Style at #8 and Meghan Trainor’s Dear Future Husband at #9. The Top 30 sees some action with Philip George’s Wish You Were Mine hitting a new peak at #20, though still in the shadow of its #2 peak in the UK and Sam Smith’s Stay With Me jumps 22 positions up to #32 following wins last week at The Grammys.

ARIA Albums

The Albums chart sees a new #1 debut this week from the soundtrack forFifty Shades Of Grey. The soundtrack featuring tracks from Sia, Beyonce, The Rolling Stones and more was expected in the Top 5 at least. Up at #3 from #6 is Sam Smith’s In The Lonely Hour, raking in the success of The Grammys. Two new debuts take place at #7 and #8 from Diana Krall’s Wallflower and Bob Dylan’s Shadows In The Night respectively. One Direction’s Four makes a jump from #21 to #12 following the success of their stadium current tour around Australia.Debuts at #15 and #16 come from Kid Ink’s Full Speed and Fifth Harmony’s Reflection respectively.
