APRA Awards streamed first time, Daniel Johns leads performers’ list

This year’s APRA awards will be streamed for the first time, courtesy a deal announced this morning with Moshcam and Hostworks.

At the same time, Daniel Johns leads the list of performers at the Tuesday 24 March event at Sydney’s Carriageworks. Johns returns after an eight-month musical hiatus with the live premiere of his new song Preach. Off his Aerial Love EP, it reached #1 on iTunes. Johns is a three-time APRA Songwriter of the Year winner.

Other performers unveiled this morning were Jimmy Barnes, Diesel, producer M-Phazes, Lisa Mitchell, Thelma Plum, E Street Band saxophonist and solo performer Jake Clemons, singer songwriters Penelope Austin and Andy Bull, Sydney’s Thief, tenor Mark Vincent, soprano Julie Lea Goodwin and Melbourne band Kingswood.

The new Moshcam and Hostworks tie-up will allow registered viewers to access recordings of the night’s performances and interviews with nominees from 4 pm on Wednesday March 25. Registration is through www.moshcam.com.
