Adelaide’s Unsound experimental festival back at Queen’s Theatre

Adelaide’s Unsound experimental festival back at Queen’s Theatre

Adelaide experimental music festival Unsound returns to Queen’s Theatre between December 14 and 16.

David Sefton, one of its artistic directors says: “Thrilled to be able to share the news not just that Unsound is back but that we’re also back in the Queens –  original and best venue for the festival.”

Added co-founder and co-artistic director Mat Schulz“It’s fantastic to be back in the wonderful Queen’s Theatre for Unsound Adelaide, returning to the venue where it all began five years ago.

“A lot has happened since then, including becoming an independent festival in Adelaide, but one thing has remained the same – the desire to bring a range of truly adventurous musicians to Australia.

“Once again, the program will feature legendary artists from experimental and underground scenes, along with the freshest names and sounds. “

Unsound Adelaide’s full lineup is announced on September 24.

Unsound is a global festival focussed on presenting avant-garde electronic music and art that began in Krakow, Poland in 2003.

Adelaide is its only Southern Hemisphere event.

The Australian version began its first four years as part of Adelaide Festival.

Last year it struck out as a standalone. Its major partner is the state government, through the SA Tourism Commission, Events SA and Arts SA through the Music Development Office.
