Ingrooves signs Ziggy Alberts’ Commonfolk Records to global distribution deal
Commonfolk Records, the label founded and led by singer-songwriter Ziggy Alberts, has signed a global distribution deal with Ingrooves Music.
Alberts will continue to oversee Commonfolk Records alongside co-founder and general manager, Anneka Alberts, who is also Ziggy’s sister and manager.
The first release under the new deal will be Ziggy Alberts’ single ‘I BELIEVE’, which drops tomorrow.
Ziggy Alberts said he can’t wait to work with the team at Ingrooves.
“I love all the different genres they distribute, and I’m excited to continue innovating and improving how we release music in an ever-changing industry,” he said.
Nina Rabe-Cairns, managing director of Ingrooves Music Group across Australia and New Zealand, said the partnership was one where everything felt right from the very beginning.
“Ziggy, Anneka, and the rest of the Commonfolk team have created a very special business. We were instantly drawn to how open and welcoming the team is and their level of professionalism with such an organised focus on business growth,” she said.
“It makes us very proud that Commonfolk Records chose us to help expand Ziggy’s already impressive success story as an artist globally. The label’s next chapter will be an exciting one.”
Anneka Alberts appeared equally excited to being the journey with team Ingrooves.
“As an independent label, we are grateful for the support and enthusiasm from a talented international team who are ready to hit the ground running alongside us and all of our upcoming projects”
Rick Butterworth, label & business development manager at Ingrooves Music Group, said the music distribution, marketing and technology company would use its innovative proprietary analytics and solutions to help spread Ziggy Alberts’ story into other regions and seize opportunities wherever they exist.”
Ingrooves Music Group also recently signed Alex Hayes’ independent label Live Daily Records.
