Alex Hayes launches label & signs global distribution deal with Ingrooves

Fresh off his stint on Celebrity Apprentice, Australian surfer and YouTube and Instagram star, Alex Hayes, has launched an independent label Live Daily Records, and signed a global distribution deal with Ingrooves.

Hayes’ debut single, ‘XI’ is out today, with Ingrooves saying it offers a melodic, progressive techno sound, and introduces the world to a more introspective, alternative version of the content creator.

Nina Rabe-Cairns, country manager of Ingrooves Music Group Australia, said she can’t wait to see where Hayes’ official music journey takes him.

“We’re thrilled that Alex chose Ingrooves as his partner to open this exciting next chapter of his career with. He is a hard-working and inspiring entrepreneur with big visions and a very positive attitude,” she said.

Hayes said his passion for music has always been at the core of who he is.

“Over 12 years of experience editing videos has given me a heightened awareness of music, and the power of storytelling by mixing visual art with sound,” he said.

“I always dreamed of making my own music to go with the adventure videos I was making. My ultimate goal is to create music that invites presence, furthering into an experience, a journey, a story told through sound. So pumped to finally do that on my own label, Live Daily Records.”

Hayes first came to national attention in 2015 when he was just a teenager. He posted an image – since revealed to be photoshopped – of him sitting on his surf board right next to a lurking shark. The image swiftly went viral and Hayes’ stocks began to rise.

Since then, he’s become a surfer, DJ, content creator, influencer, brand ambassador and owner of apparel brand The Daily Living.

He appeared on Channel 9’s Celebrity Apprentice this year, but was “shocked” to be ‘fired’ in episode one.
