Zane Lowe-led masterclass announced among full ARIA Week 2018 program

With Australian music’s night of nights just around the corner, ARIA has announced a stack of events in the week leading up to the awards on Wednesday, November 28.

Heading up the reveal is creative director and DJ for Apple Music’s Beats 1 Zane Lowe‘s return to Australia to moderate a masterclass inspired by Apple Music’s ‘The New’ playlist that will discuss the current state of the Aussie hip hop community.

“I’m excited to return to Sydney for the ARIAs and celebrate the best of Australian music,” said Lowe.

“I’ll be collaborating with local artists to bring The New Australia playlist to life at the ARIA Masterclass, and along with the Beats 1 team, share the best Australian music to a global audience of music fans.”

The masterclass will be held at the Telstra CIC on Tuesday, November 27.

“ARIA is delighted to welcome back Zane Lowe to Sydney for this year’s ARIA Masterclass,” ARIA chief executive Dan Rosen said.

“With more than 15 years in the business, Zane Lowe has been at the forefront of the global music industry, and we look forward to him sharing his insights at the ARIA Masterclass.”

The week will also include workshops and events such as Music NSW’s What is Distribution, Sync & Publishing, ARIA’s Women in Music Sydney, Support Act’s Mental Health Summit and Salvo’s Don’t Stop The Music Instrument Donations Event as well as a number of live music events in the city and New South Wales.

“It’s fantastic to see this year’s program of ARIA events extend further into regional NSW, driving tourism to our country towns to celebrate the best of Australian music,” NSW minister for tourism and major events, Adam Marshall said.

“We’re delighted to once again host this incredible line-up of events and performances and look forward to welcoming artists and fans for this iconic celebration of musical talent to our State.”

Sydney venues are still invited to register their event as a part of ARIA Week; for more information and to see the full list of events, head to the official ARIA website.
