West Thebarton duo launch management firm Planet Shhh
Two members of Adelaide band West Thebarton have launched a new management company, Planet Shhh.
Tom Gordon, also plays in Horror My Friend, is involved in Rad Music, and, an experienced school teacher, works at Music SA as an industry development officer coordinating the workshop program and schools roadshows.
Guitarist Josh Healey also serves time in melodic metalcore outfit, Sleep Talk.
Planet Shhh launches this morning with its first signing Paradise Club, an Adelaide duo who control every aspect of their art from writing to producing to video making, and landed themselves a Robert Stigwood Artist Fellowship,
Healey says Planet Shhh. Is committed to “music that is unique and special to us, focusing on artists who are changing the game, breaking boundaries and who are striving to create something different”.
Gordon adds, “We don’t take the signing of a new artist lightly.
“For Josh and I, they’ve gotta just have a good sense of direction and great, honest songs, without the pretence of getting on the radio, etc.
“We just want to work with acts that are doing because they love it, because that’s why we’re doing it.”
Paradise Club play at Planet Shhh’s launch party at Chateau Apollo in Adelaide on April 13 (co-presented by Young Henrys) with Queensland’s Good Boy, local alt-rock act Colourblind and dream pop newcomers Little Dust.
