Australian sensation Tones and I has been signed by Warner Chappell Music for the international market.

The major publishing company will administer her new and existing compositions for the world, excluding Australia and New Zealand.

The Byron Bay singer-songwriter, discovered while busking and living out of her van, has already made an impact abroad.

Her Australian double platinum ARIA chart-topping ‘Dance Monkey’ also went to #1 in Norway, and Sweden and clocked up 80 million streams globally.

A headlining tour throughout the UK and European Union in November has sold out shows in London and Cologne.

“At Warner Chappell, we strive to foster a unique creative culture that nurtures and promotes brilliant original talents like Tones and I, who shares our passion for crafting meaningful songs that move audiences across the globe,” said Guy Moot, co-chair and CEO, Warner Chappell Music.

“We’re honoured Tones and I chose us as her publisher and look forward to helping shape her blossoming career.”

Added Ryan Press, president of A&R in the US, “Tones and I is now one of Australia’s biggest singer-songwriters, and her rise has been no accident.”

Senior director of A&R, David Goldsen, enthused, “Her electrifying voice and charismatic lyrics are like nothing else out there.

“The world is catching on quickly, and she’s going to be an important artist for years to come.”

Tones and I said, “It means the world that Ryan, David and the Warner Chappell team believe so much in me as a songwriter.

“They’ve worked with some seriously amazing talent and have incredible instincts about fostering creativity and collaborations.

“It’s a dream to have their support.”

Her debut EP, The Kids Are Coming, has dropped on all streaming platforms through Bad/Sony Music Entertainment in the domestic market and Elektra Records abroad.

The title track premiered on triple j, and Tones will be at
Platypus Shoes, Pitt Street Mall in Sydney at 6pm tomorrow (Saturday, August 31) for a free live acoustic show.

She posted on social media that the show was “to meet some of you amazing people that keep my heart beating from the bottom of my soul. I love you and as always… we are in this together.”
