Vance Joy’s ‘Dream Your Life Away’ hits double Platinum, ‘Nation Of Two’ certified Gold
Vance Joy continues to be a major seller for Liberation Records.
His debut album Dream Your Life Away has just clocked over double platinum, for Australian sales of 140,000.
Fuelled by hit singles Riptide, Mess Is Mine and Georgia, the album has remained in the charts since its released in September 2014.
This year, it has appeared in the Top 100 of the ARIA Albums Chart every week bar one.
Liberation Records reported that the Nation of Two single achieved ARIA Gold status (35,000+ sales).
Currently in the middle of the Australian leg of his Nation of Two World Tour, Joy has dropped a rework of I’m With You, a fan favourite from the album, which was released in February this year and debuted at #1 on the ARIA chart.
He recorded it at the end of the North American tour last month.
The singer-songwriter said, “I’m With You is one of my favourite songs off the album, and a lot of people I have met over the last few months on tour have shared how much they love this track as well.
“I wanted to create a version with a band feel that had a bit more fire.”
The Nation of Two World Tour has so far seen him perform to nearly 200,000 people across the US and Canada, and an additional 50,000 fans across 10 dates on the Australian leg.
The Aussie run included two shows at the Rod Laver Arena in his hometown Melbourne.
During the Adelaide stop, he visited the year 10 music class at Woodcroft College and they performed two of his songs for him.
“They sounded awesome!” he declared after.
The Australian tour winds up with two shows at the Fremantle Arts Centre in WA on September 23 and 24.
After performing at the AFL grand final, Joy heads to New Zealand followed by Latin America for shows in Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Mexico, before looping back to Europe and the UK.
He returns to Australia to headline the Fairgrounds Festival at the end of November and close out an eventful and memorable 2018 as a headliner at Falls Festival.
