Universal signs global publishing deal with Michael Fatkin

Australian Grammy and APRA-nominated musician and producer Michael Fatkin has just inked a global publishing deal with Universal Music Publishing Australia.

The local artist has worked with Jessica Mauboy, Stan Walker, Tina Arena as well as with profile writers like DNA and Sarah Aarons. He’s also caught the attention of some major international names, working alongside Sam Fischer, Rozzi, Tabitha Nauser and Royal and The Serpent.

Recently, he also nabbed an APRA nomination for his work on The McClymont’s track House.

In the announcement this morning, Arwen Hunt, vice president creative at UMPG Australia & New Zealand said: “Michael is an exceptional talent and a dream to work with.

“We’ve been watching his star rise for a couple of years now and he is deservedly becoming one of Australia’s most sought-after writer/producers.

UMPG will also be working with Fatkin’s manager Di Torossian, along with Hayden Bell and The Kennel in Sweden – “a partnership that has already produced remarkable results from sessions in Europe and beyond. We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Michael to the UMPG family!”

Fatkin joins UMPA’s impressive roster alongside the likes of Alex The Astronaut, Bag Raiders, Gang of Youths, Guy SebastianVera Blue, Holy HolyThe Veronicas and more.

“It’s been a natural fit joining the UMPG publishing family together with Hayden Bell and the team at The Kennel,” Fatkin said.

“Their support at home and abroad has already opened up incredible opportunities for me and I’m grateful to partner with such a passionate and driven team of people.”
