Uncharted: Jordie Ireland, Jess Glynne, Post Malone, Marshmello & Juicy J
TMN takes a closer look at the hottest new tracks hitting commercial airwaves this week.
Jordie Ireland ft. Ava Hayz – ‘One In A Million’ (UMA)
Australian radio has already taken kindly to Jordie Ireland’s songwriting formula. Now he’s set to take radio by storm once again with new single ‘One In A Million’. Mixed by Tyron Hapi and with vocals from Ava Hayz – the same singer who appeared on previous single ‘Take Cover’ (#20 Hot 100) – the song is destined to make its way on to countless radio playlists this week.
Jess Glynne – ‘I’ll Be There’ (WMA)
Despite having no new music since her 2015 debut album I Cry When I Laugh, we’ve been hearing a lot of Jess Glynne on the radio recently. A featured appearance alongside Macklemore and Dan Caplen on Rudimental’s chart-topping single ‘These Days’ has laid a perfect platform for her comeback as a lead artist. Glynne is at her best on new single ‘I’ll Be There’ which will be a hard one for MDs to overlook.
Post Malone – ‘Better Now’ (REP/UMA)
Post Malone is sending another new single to radio this week, following an historic #1 ARIA Albums Chart debut last week. ‘I Fall Apart’ (#2), ‘Psycho’ ft. Ty Dolla $ign (#3), ‘rockstar’ ft. 21 Savage (#9) show just how much of an impact he’s already had at Aus radio. While ‘Better Now’ may not reach the charting heights of the rapper’s previous singles, it remains a good shout for Most Added this week.
Marshmello & Juicy J ft. James Arthur – ‘You Can Cry’ (COL/SME)
Radio hitmaker Marshmello has teamed up with Juicy J and James Arthur on his latest track ‘You Can Cry’, the third single from the DJ to hit commercial this year. ‘You Can Cry’ is a genuine hip hop crossover track with an added layer of emotional depth provided by Arthur.
