Uncharted: Ariana Grande, Anne-Marie, Liam Payne & J Balvin
Here are the top singles going to Australian radio this week, as selected by TMN.
1. Ariana Grande – ‘No Tears Left To Cry’ (REP/UMA)
‘No Tears Left To Cry’ sees 24-year-old Ariana Grande deliver one of her strongest radio singles to date after a lengthy stint away from the game. Surprisingly, Grande has never hit #1 on the TMN Hot 100 before, but has three Top 5 singles to her name (‘Problem’ ft. Iggy Azalea, ‘Bang Bang’ ft. Jessie J & Nicki Minaj, ‘Side To Side’ ft. Nicki Minaj). TMN predicts big things for this track and the possibility of a new PB for Grande on the chart.
2. Anne-Marie – ‘2002’ (ATL/WMA)
Compared to Grande, UK superstar Anne-Marie has been very active in the commercial sphere of late. Alongside Marshmello, current single ‘FRIENDS’ is currently doing the rounds on radio at #15 on the Hot 100. ‘2002’ is a throwback pop anthem with distinct sounds from the noughties and a perfect follow-up for the singer. It’s already off to a great start having been added across the board to the Nova network.
3. Liam Payne & J Balvin – ‘Familiar’ (CAP/EMI)
No more than a week after ZAYN released his new single, another One Direction member is making a claim at commercial. Teaming up with Colombian reggaeton artist J Balvin, Liam Payne‘s ‘Familiar’ has groovy Latin vibes partnered with Payne’s R&B-style sound. Debut solo single ‘Strip That Down’ ft. Quavo is the most successful single from a 1D member to ever chart on the Hot 100, having spent six weeks at #1 and finishing at #16 on the 2017 Year End airplay chart.
