Ultra Australia debut reaches over 40,000 fans & confirmed to return

Ultra Australia’s two inaugural shows last weekend in Melbourne’s Flemington Racecourse and Sydney’s Parramatta Park drew over 40,000 punters, the local promoters have told TMN.

As a result, the festival is confirmed to return next year.

Whether it will extend to a third Australian city in 2020 is yet to be decided by its US founders.

The festival made its debut in Australia last year in Melbourne as part of the smaller The Road To Ultra.

Marshmello, ILLENIUM and Slushii commanded the Main stage with electrifying performances, Martin Garrix worked the crowds into a frenzy as the sun set, and The Chainsmokers closed out both days to a rapturous response.

Making its much-anticipated debut on Australian shores, Joris Voorn was the first international act to take to the inaugural RESISTANCE stage.

Also on the stage were Nicole Moudaber and Dubfire while techno titan Adam Beyer had ‘em wanting more when he closed left fans demanding more, as he closed out RESISTANCE Australia on both nights.

Australian talent was splashed across all three stages, with best response for Sunset Bros on the Main stage, Steve Ward and Boogs on RESISTANCE and an array of talent over at UMF Radio including Tigerlily, Mashd N Kutcher and Joel Fletcher.

Australia was Ultra’s first global event for 2019.

After this comes Brasil, China, Europe, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Miami, Singapore, South Africa and Taiwan.
