The Trouble With Us

Last year’s Hottest 100 winner Chet Faker showed off a completely different side to his music late last week when he premiered a new collaboration on triple j.

The Melbourne crooner has teamed up with UK producer Marcus Marr (who is signed to DFA records) after a Twitter exchange led to the two lads meeting up in London for a four-day recording binge. The Trouble With Us is the first taste of the duo’s forthcoming four-track EP Work, and it’s not what you would expect from the Built On Glass songwriter – Marcus Marr has turned up the tempo and helped deliver an upbeat disco house track which sees Chet dip almost into Michael Jackson/The Weeknd territory with his vocals.

The Trouble With Us is out now, and the EP will be out early December on Chet’s own label Detail Records.
