TMN Country Chart: Maren Morris bumps Dustin Lynch off the summit
American country music artist Maren Morris has dethroned compatriot Dustin Lynch off the top of the latest TMN Country Airplay Chart.
‘GIRL’ is Morris’ second chart-topping single as a lead artist after ‘My Church’ went all the way in 2016. Morris features on Thomas Rhett’s ‘Craving You’ which also reached the summit that year.
Along with ‘GIRL’, five other singles hit new peak positions in the Top 10 this week, including The Wolfe Brothers’ ‘Country Heart’ (#3), Luke Combs’ ‘Beautiful Crazy’ (#4), Rhett’s ‘Sixteen’ (#6) and Andrew Swift‘s ‘Fire & Ice’ ft. Catherine Britt (#10).
Among that list is Jindabyne native Brad Cox. The 22-year-old’s latest single ‘Red Light’ has bounced around the Top 30 since first entering the chart at the start of the year.
Now ‘Red Light’ cracks the Top 10 at #9 thanks to an influx of spins from CMC, Triple M Country and iHeartCountry Radio.
Two tracks make their debuts on the chart this week. Aussie Christie Lamb enters at #45 with ‘Hot Hot Kiss’ while Jon Pardi‘s 2017 single ‘Night Shift’ sneaks in at #48 with increased support from CMC and Triple M.
TMN’s Country Airplay Chart weights spins from seven contributors across Australia including KIX, CMC, ABC Country and Triple M Country.
