PRESS RELEASE:

Tim Omaji is all about evolution, and in 2015 the dynamic singer, songwriter and performer is shedding ‘Timomatic” as he enters the next phase of his career. Sony Music Entertainment Australia is excited to announce that under Tim’s birth name, Tim Omaji, a brand new single, ‘Something Bout You’, will be released on March 6

When asked about the name change Tim explains, “I felt like everything in my creative life and, to an extent, my personal life was evolving to what I believed was a closer expression of who I am. Everything naturally evolved but my name”; with him coming to view “Timomatic” as an “Alter-ego”.

‘Something Bout You’ draws on soulful inspirations with Tim admitting, “I think on that day I was listening to a lot of funk and a lot of Marvin Gaye.” The highly anticipated video celebrates Tim’s family and African-Australian heritage, and highlights the new live setup working with a full band including, bass, drums, guitar and DJ.

Tim Omaji has had several urban-dance hits with ‘Set It Off’ reaching #2 on the ARIA singles chart and was both certified 4 x Platinum and nominated for the ARIA “Song of the Year” in 2012 and “Video of the Year” in 2013. The follow up single, ‘If Looks Could Kill’ reached 2 x Platinum and truly cemented his position in the Australian music scene.

Tim Omaji hits the road with his band this March supporting Jessie J on her Australian tour.
