Tim Holland joins Top Dog Group to head up its new record label
Sydney’s Top Dog Group, which includes management, publishing and creative services under its umbrella, has launched a new record label and placed industry veteran Tim Holland at the helm.
Red Dog Recordings will primarily focus on mainstream country, rock and pop based releases. It launches today with Tim Holland as General Manager, and Top Dog Group Director of A&R David Simon and CFO Michael Lifson completing the core of the Red Dog team.
The label launches with new signings Shannon Noll, Rachael Fahim and Southbound.
Holland previously held the role of A&R / Label Manger at ABC Music, where he helped cement it as the leading country label for local artists in Australia. His notable signings included Adam Brand, McAlister Kemp, and The Wolfe Brothers.
In his Marketing Manager role at Sony Music, Holland executed chart-topping local campaigns for international stars such as Luke Combs, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Brad Paisley, Maren Morris, Dolly Parton and The Chicks.
As a board member of the Country Music Association of Australia and with his own Bolder Entertainment firm, Tim Holland manages the careers of 2020 ARIA nominee Jasmine Rae and up and comer Abby Christo. He is also the host of The Brag Media’s Tone Countrycast.
“We have a great opportunity to build something really special off the back of the amazing ecosystem established by Top Dog Group and our fantastic relationships in Nashville, which will help create genuine international pathways for our artists,” said Tim Holland.
“Our purpose is to work with new and established artists, who not only create globally competitive music, but who also have the ability to inspire armies of engaged, active and passionate fans across the world.”
Top Dog Group artist management roster also includes Sony Music’s Darling Brando, Island Records band Coterie and new Republic Records (USA) signing Peach PRC. The company also manages multi-award winning producers Peter Holtz, Erik Lewander, Craig Porteils and Greg Stace.
Top Dog Group’s founder and CEO, Paul Paoliello said, “We are hoping to establish a recognisable label brand that inspires the same level of passion as other much-loved Australian labels like Mushroom, Alberts, Future Classic and Unified. A label that attracts the most exciting musical talent from across ANZ and beyond, which will appeal to international audiences and especially in the US where we have already established a presence.”
Shannon Noll, who has five top 10 albums, 17 platinum and three gold accreditations to his name, is also the new label’s ambassador.
Noll said, “I’m super excited to be working with Top Dog Group in launching the new record label Red Dog Recordings. I’m really looking forward to releasing my new single ‘Wonderful’ with the team and have very high hopes for the future of the label!”
Noll’s first release with the label, ‘Wonderful’ is out on Friday November 20.
Meanwhile, Australia’s most streamed female country artist Rachael Fahim is set to release her single ‘Middle Ground’, this Friday, November 13. And all-female country supergroup, Southbound – which features Fahim, Golden Guitar and CMC Music Award nominated Missy Lancaster, Sarah Bernardo and Andrea Krakovska – already have a single out on Red Dog.
Southbound’s ‘Find Our Way’ featuring Shannon Noll, is #1 on this week’s TMN national Country airplay chart.
