The ARIA charts are awash with Aussie artists

Australians have risen to the forefront of the sales charts this week with three artists scoring Top 5 debuts on ARIA’s Albums Chart.

Paul Kelly mirrored the success of previous album Life Is Fine, racing straight to #1 with new release Nature. Kelly is the tenth Aussie act to top the chart in 2018.

On his achievements, John O’Donnell, managing director at EMI Music Australia said, “Paul Kelly has a rolling momentum that looks unstoppable. Nature finds him in blinding, poetic form. EMI is honoured to work with Paul and to help him achieve this sales and chart peak.”

Hands Like Houses and Morgan Evans were right behind, scoring debuts at #4 (Anon.) and #5 (Things That We Drink To). Both artists take out new peaks on the chart, rounding out a massive weeks of debuts.

Brisbane greats Powderfinger move up to #8 following a re-issue of former chart-topping album Internationalist. It was the first of the band’s five #1 albums on the ARIA Charts and earned them four ARIA Awards in 1999, including Album Of The Year.

Dean Lewis remains the leading Aussie on the Singles Chart with Be Alright (#4) entering its 16th week in the Top 50. Meanwhile, 5 Seconds Of Summer‘s Youngblood moves up 12 frames to #14.
