The Royal Wedding will be released on vinyl, available to stream now
Forget Post Malone, the Royal Wedding is now available on streaming services, with vinyl and CD releases set for the coming weeks.
This is the first time in history that the Royal Wedding was recorded for streaming purposes.
Recorded by Decca Records and mastered and mixed by Grammy-nominated producer Anna Barry, the entire ceremony has been uploaded to services such as Spotify and Apple Music, with a vinyl release expected for release this month.
“Capturing the words and music of this Royal Wedding is a great responsibility, knowing how much a permanent record of the event will mean to so many people around the world,” said Barry in a press release.
“Our Decca team will deliver a state of the art recording which captures every nuance of this very happy day and it will be a joy to be a part of the celebrations.”
A statement released by Kensington Palace said that the couple had “taken a great deal of interest and care in choosing the music for their Service.” A number of well-known hymns and choral works were performed.
Expect to hear performances from artists such as 19-year-old cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason who played a number of pieces accompanied by the orchestra, during the signing of the register.
The Choir of St George’s Chapel, comprised of 23 boy choristers from St George’s School and 12 Lay Clerks (adult singers) singing alto, tenor and bass, was lead through a repertoire spanning the ages by the Director of Music at St George’s Chapel, James Vivian.
Over the weekend, the Royal Wedding became the most-watched TV event of the year, with as many as 2 billion people worldwide tuning in to watch Prince Harry marry Meghan Markle on Saturday.
The Official Recording of The Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is available to stream now. A physical CD will be released on Friday May 25, with a collector’s vinyl edition set to follow.
