The Potbelleez ditch greyhound race performance amid backlash

Australian dance trio The Potbelleez have bowed out of their planned performance at Sydney’s Million Dollar Chase greyhound race following an online backlash.

The outfit briefly deactivated their Facebook page yesterday amid a wave of negative feedback from animal rights activists over their decision to play the event.

Returning yesterday afternoon, the group posted a one sentence status confirming that they would not be playing the event on October 20.

Fans are praising the move on social media, posting pictures of their own rescue greyhounds and encouraging people to support the decision.

Racing NSW have not commented on the decision at the time of writing.

The Potbelleez are represented by Soapbox Agency and have been playing shows recently on the back of their latest single The Moment, which was released back in July.
