The Kid LAROI appears in VEVO’s most watched videos of 2021
Music video network Vevo has unveiled its most watched music videos from throughout the past year, both in Australia and across the globe.
Both locally and throughout the world, The Weeknd’s music video for ‘Save Your Tears’ was the most-watched visual on the network, amassing 7.9 million Australian views and 615 million views around the world.
Gamilaraay rapper The Kid LAROI made a huge impact across both the Australian and global charts. His music video for ‘STAY’, which features Justin Bieber, was the second most-viewed video on Vevo in Australia, earning 6 million views. It was the seventh most-viewed video globally, earning 371 million views.
The only other Australian act to appear in the top 10 of either the Australian or global chart is PNAU, with their remix of Elton John and Dua Lipa’s ‘Cold Heart’ earning 3 million local views placing it at #10 on the Australian chart.
Other videos that appear at the top end of charts include Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘drivers license’ (with her video for ‘good 4 u’ also appearing in the Australian top 10), Lil Nas X’s ‘MONTERO (Call Me By Your Name)’ and Justin Bieber’s ‘Peaches’ with Daniel Caesar and Giveon.
The Kid LAROI has made a massive impact across various streaming services in 2021. On Spotify, ‘Stay’ was Australia’s most-streamed local song, with LAROI’s solo tracks ‘Without You’ and ‘So Done’ coming in at #2 and #4 on the same chart.
F*CK LOVE, LAROI’s debut full-length release, was the most streamed Australian album on Apple Music in 2021, with ‘Stay’, ‘Without You’ and ‘So Done’ all making an appearance in the top 25 most-streamed songs in Australia.
‘Stay’ was also Australia’s most-shazamed song, though Sydney rapper Masked Wolf’s breakthrough hit ‘Astronaut In The Ocean’ was the most Shazamed globally.
