ARIA Albums Chart: Teskey Brothers & Northlane eye podium debuts
The ARIA Albums Chart looks set to welcome two Aussie acts to its Top 10, with albums by The Teskey Brothers and Northlane eyeing high debuts.
Blues rockers The Teskey Brothers have unveiled their second record Run Home Slow, while ARIA Award-winning metalcore outfit Northlane have dropped their fifth studio album Alien.
According to midweek data, the two Aussie acts could both register Top 3 debuts.
It would be an all-time high for The Teskey Brothers, whose debut album Half Mile Harvest peaked at #18 following its 2017 release.
Hype around the Melbourne act is at an all-time high, and Michael Gudinski’s words to TMN earlier this year that they were “ones to keep a a close eye on” are ringing true.
Northlane have reached the chart’s podium places on three occasions previously. 2013’s Singularity and 2017’s Mesmer both peaked in third spot, while Node topped the chart in 2015.
Meanwhile on the ARIA Singles Chart, Ariana Grande’s ‘boyfriend’ with Pittsburgh duo Social House looks set to debut in the Top 10.
Blanco Brown’s country-rap crossover ‘The Git Up’ could also crack the Top 10 for the first time, as it follows in the footsteps of Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ on streaming services and at radio.
The ARIA Singles Chart is currently topped by an Aussie for the first time in 2019 care of Tones And I’s ‘Dance Monkey’.
