Support Act hires social worker Carina Hillmann for Victoria & Tasmania
Support Act has hired a new social worker to service the Sydney-based national charity in Victoria and Tasmania.
Carina Hillmann has over ten years experience in the youth and family services sector.
She reports to Support Act’s national welfare coordinator Lindy Morrison.
Support Act notes that the part-time position has been funded by Michael and Sue Gudinski and Frontier Touring.
“44% of our service users are in Victoria and Tasmania, and with demand for our crisis relief services continuing to grow, we felt it was time to employ a social worker to be responsible for this region,” said Support Act CEO, Clive Miller.
“We are incredibly grateful to Michael and Sue for their generosity in enabling this to happen.”
Michael Gudinski stated, “We are great admirers of the work Support Act does for our friends and colleagues in music and we were only too happy to answer the call to put someone on the ground in Victoria.
“After all, everyone knows that Melbourne is the true centre of the Australian music universe. We are happy to welcome Carina to the music family.”
“I am excited to be part of Support Act and looking forward to connecting with the music community; providing support and assistance to its members in Victoria and Tasmania,” said Hillman.
