Universal Music Publishing Australia has announced a publishing deal with producer and songwriter Styalz Fuego.

Globally-renowned and Melbourne-based super-producer Styalz (aka Kaelyn Behr) has signed on for an exclusive, worldwide deal.

His list of achievements in Australia is lengthy, having worked on the 2017 ARIA Song Of The Year (‘Stranger’ by Peking Duk). The track also took out the 2016 and 2018 APRA Most Played Australian Work award.

Other local accolades include 2012 ARIA Producer Of The Year and 20131 APRA Breakthrough Songwriter (for work on 360’s ‘Falling & Flying’).

“Writers and producers of Styalz’ calibre are few and far between – as his awards cabinet quite rightly demonstrates – and UMPG is beyond excited to be given the opportunity to help
his star grow,” said Arwen Hunt, Vice President, Creative/A&R at UMPG Australia & New Zealand.

“We look forward to working alongside his stellar managers Adam (Weez) Booth and Nathan Farrell, to elevate Styalz to the globally recognised writer he deserves to be.”

Styalz also has a stack of hits internationally, having cracked the Korean market thanks to his work on K-Pop outfit EXO’s 2017 hit ‘KOKOBOP’. The hit saw the group’s album go #1 in 41 countries.

His work with The Knocks and Foster The People on ‘Ride Or Die’ saw the track go Top 10 on the US Radio chart and #1 on the Billboard Electronic Chart.

“I’m psyched to be starting a new chapter with the team at Universal Music Publishing,” he said.

“Arwen Hunt, Nora Wever and Walter Jones have shown great energy and passion in making this deal happen and I’m excited for the work we can do together over the coming years and can’t wait to get in with some of the amazing artists and writers on the roster!”

2019 was a big year too, with Styalz working on Gold and Platinum singles for Aussie acts including Peking Duk, Illy, G-Flip and Jack River.

He joins UMP Australia’s roster that includes Alex The Astronaut, Andy Hopkins, Brux, C.W Stoneking, Cloves, Drax Project, DNA, Ecca Vandal, Gang of Youths, Guy Sebastian, Holy Holy, Hopium, Jessica Mauboy, Josh Fountain, JOY., Lakyn, Lime Cordiale, Michael Fatkin, Milan Ring, M- Phazes, Odette, One Above, Thief, Planet Vegeta, Robinson, Ruel, Sons Of The East, Timmy Trumpet, The Chats, Tora, Vera Blue, Vetta Borne, Woodes and many more.
