The best from the west were celebrated last night, with the winners of this year’s WAMAwards named.

BIGSOUND darling Stella Donnelly has walked away with wins across 5 of her 6 nominations, leading the winners pack by taking out Best EP, Best Folk Act, Best Single, Best Female Vocalist and Most Popular New Act.

Other multi award-winning acts on the night included Methyl Ethel (Best Album, Best Pop Act and Best Male Vocalist), Ziggy Ramo (Best Hip Hop Act and Best Indigenous Act) and POW! Negro (Best Urban Act and Most Popular Live Act).

Phil Stevens’ huge year saw him take out the Management Award, with RTRFM Breakfast Presenter/Producer & Music Interviews Coordinator Caitlin Nienaber winning the newly named Industry Representative Of The Year Award.

Nannup Music Festival Director and incredible advocate for emerging and Indigenous performers, Phaedra Watts, has taken out the coveted Golden WAMi.

Through public voting, Falls Festival was named Music Event of the Year, and beloved Freo venue Mojos Bar has collected once again Most Popular Venue for the fourth year in a row.

The Hall of Fame inductees for this year were also celebrated, with Eurogliders and Graham Wood earning their rightful place on the list of legends – both integral to shaping the thriving musical landscape in WA today.
