Splendour Music Industry Masters Unveils Teams, Live Music

Buzz is growing for the inaugural Splendour Music Industry Masters (the MIM Cup) as organisers unveil teams, artists and prizes.

It is held on July 21 (eve of Splendour In The Grass) at Byron Bay Golf Club.

The music industry is represented by promoters, associations, media, record labels, management companies, venues, digital companies and festivals.

They are the Association of Artist Managers, Ampifire, Beardy, Benno Music, The Brag Media, Calibre, Call & Response, Dew Process, Double J, Fortitude Music Hall, FRNDS MGMT, Goodfind, Grass Is Greener, Grow Yourself Up, Jaxsta, Kingdom Sounds, Kobalt, Lemon Tree, Lennox Groove, Live Nation, Macro Music, Mushroom, The Orchard, Ripple Effect, Rolling Stone AUS, Secret Sounds Group, Space 44, Spotify, Su: Ku: Ya, The Triffid, tripe j, Universal Music, Utopia Music and WeManage.

They compete against a contingent of artists made up of Ali Barter, Alice Ivy, Bad//Dreems, Baker Boy, Bernard Fanning, The Cherry Dolls, The Colliflowers, The Delta Riggs, Didirri, Dune Rats, Holy Holy, The Jungle Giants, Kingswood, LDRU, MVHOLLAND, Pacific Avenue, Pat Davern, Rack Jones, Robbie Miller, The Rubens, Ruby Fields, Hamish Rosser, Thomas Porter and Timi Temple.

Limited tickets are available for punters.

The event’s major sponsor, TAYLORMADE, is helping run the tournament and has shipped a crate of clubs and swag to give away as prizes for players and a few lucky punters.

Organisers said the aim of the MIM Cup is to unite the music industry, raise money for worthy causes, and create an environment where “we can both celebrate our community, acknowledge our failings and reflect on what we can do better.”

After the game, the party moves to the clubhouse with a presentation, games, food, drinks and live music from South Sudanese act Ajak Kwai.
