Spacey Jane signs global deal after big debut on pop charts
It’s a big week for indie four-piece Spacey Jane.
The band’s debut album Sunlight landed at #2 on this week’s ARIA Albums Chart and today they revealed a new deal with Dew Process Publishing.
Administered by Kobalt Music Publishing and owned by Secret Sounds Group, the Dew Process signing is an exclusive worldwide publishing agreement for the band’s copyrights.
Fergus Jenkins, the general manager of Dew Process Publishing, said he’s “stoked to join the ride with the Spacies” and continue the relationship with Kobalt.
“Like the thousands of fans that Caleb, Peppa, Ashton and Kieran have connected with in recent years, we’ve fallen hard for the songs Spacey Jane write,” Jenkins said.
Released globally on June 12, Sunlight was triple j’s feature album last week and enjoyed glowing reviews across the country from music critics, including four stars from NME.
Simon Moor, managing director at Kobalt for the APAC region, also congratulated the band.
“Kobalt is proud to be partnering with Dew Process to represent Spacey Jane,” he said.
“It has been a highlight to watch and be part of the rise of the band, who continue the strong tradition of great music and artists coming out of Western Australia.”
Spacey Jane joins Dew Process Publishing’s roster which includes Mallrat, Evan Klar, Emerson Leif, LK McKay and Poppy Rose.
