SOUNDS AUSTRALIA has further confirmed their support for local music in the digital space by revealing that they are now a global curator on Apple Music.

The move will make it easier for Apple Music users from around the world to find and enjoy Aussie music.

“It’s incredibly exciting to work with Apple Music and put Australian music front and centre on one of the world’s largest platforms for music discovery,” says Dom Alessio, SOUNDS AUSTRALIA’s Digital Export Producer.

“This partnership marries both our organisations’ passion for Australian music and the desire to see great talent prosper.”

So far, SOUNDS AUSTRALIA has announced that they will create and share playlists highlighting showcasing at international conferences such as South by Southwest, Reeperbahn Festival and The Great Escape as well as SOUNDS AUSTRALIA SELECTS, a monthly new music playlist.

The Sydney-based organisation have been pushing for more visibility for Aussie music worldwide throughout the year, developing playlists on Deezer, Spotify, YouTube and Pandora.

The push seems to be working as figures from APRA AMCOS’ 2017-18 report show a 144% year-on-year increase in overseas digital earnings for local artists.
