SOTD: Vanessa Amorosi cracks radio ahead of new single release

After almost a full decade of silence, Vanessa Amorosi is absolutely back.

The history-making Aussie artist will drop new single ‘Heavy Lies The Head’ on Friday.

The song may not be officially released yet, but it’s already received radio adds this week from Nova Late Nights, Hit Network’s Collective Noun, Grant Broadcasters and the ACE Radio Network.

Amarosi has also announced a comeback tour to celebrate the new music, playing 16 shows spanning April and May, including the Red Hot Summer tour, three shows with Stevens and six full band solo dates. Tickets are on sale now.

She hits the road with John Farnham, Daryl Braithwaite, Jon Stevens, Thirsty Merc and Dragon on the Red Hot Summer tour in April.

At age 17, her 1999 debut record The Power rocketed straight to #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Multiple singles from the album have since earned “greatest hits” status and are still heard on commercial radio today.

Amorosi has registered two airplay #1 singles on the TMN Hot 100 (‘Perfect’, ‘This Is Who I Am’) during her career, and spent a combined total of 32 weeks in the Top 10.

Will the new track justify the hype afforded by radio? Find out tomorrow when TMN reveals this week’s 10 Most Added to Radio.
