SOTD: Fergus James is primed & ready with ‘What Are We Waiting For’
Fergus James has built up quite the resume in his few years in the industry. The 19-year-old singer-songwriter wowed Justin Timberlake in 2016 with a performance at his high school, and in 2018 opened for Ed Sheeran on the biggest stadium tour Australia has ever seen.
James’ second single ‘What Are We Waiting For’ is an infectious radio-ready anthem co-written/produced by Pip Norman (Troye Sivan, CXLOE) and mixed by Eric J (Flume, Chet Faker). It was the most-played song on triple j over the summer period and currently sits on high rotation.
Nova’s head of music Scott Baker-Smith last year named the Mushroom artist in his list of Aussie artists to watch in 2019. While Nova is yet to bite on this new single, Hit105 Brisbane recently playlisted the track on arvos/weekends.
James will to hit the stage on his debut headline tour in March, playing shows in his hometown of Armidale as well as Sydney and Melbourne.
