Singles Report: Is Sam Smith primed for his first Hot 100 #1?

With their first release since 2016’s live album You Are Not Alone, Walk The Moon’s ‘One Foot’ is a matured and calculated approach to pop and is the obvious choice for radio this week. It comes off the back of Niall Horan’s unanimous victory at radio the previous week.

‘Too Much To Ask’, the latest contribution from Horan’sforthcoming solo album, was added across all of commercial radio including every major network. The Nova network cemented the victory for Horan, however, stunting Lorde’s shot at #1 with the star-studded ‘Homemade Dynamite (Remix)’.

Also hitting radio this week is DJ Snake’s ’A Different Way’ (featuring Lauv), as well as strong releases by Camila Cabello (’Havana’) and Emilie Sandé(’Starlight’).

The TMN Hot 100 is still gridlocked up the top with positions #1 through #4 remaining exactly the same. P!NK’s ‘What About Us’ is now on its fourth week at the summit and also holds down every Australian State and Territory chart.

Sam Smith confirms that goodbyes aren’t all he’s got the knack for, as ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ surges up the Hot 100 from #32 to #12 on its second week in the chart.

Smith has never been #1 on the chart, with smash single ’Stay With Me’ only getting as far as #3.

But’Too Good At Goodbyes’ is well and truly on its way to be his first ever Hot 100 #1 if the predictive charts are anything to go by: the track is #1 on both Spotify Viral and Shazam Future Hits charts, and is sitting at #4 on the Shazam Movers chart.

French Montana’s been a strong presence at radio with ‘Unforgettable’ ft. Swae Lee these past weeks, and that is finally reflected on the Hit spins chart. Taking #1 it denies P!NK the trifecta on the commercial networks as she holds the top spot for both Nova and KIIS spins.
